Duolin Inhaler is a combination of 2 bronchodilating substances Salbutamol and Ipratropium Bromide. Both drugs work by relaxing the muscles around the airways to allow easier airflow into the lungs. It is a long term preventative and treatment for symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Some people may also use the medication to treat asthma.
Salbutamol relaxes the muscles in the walls of the airways, opens them and thereby eases breathing. Ipratropium belongs to a class of drugs called anticholinergics or parasympatholytic agents. Ipratropium helps in opening the air passages to the lungs and making breathing easier and providing relief from asthma and associated conditions.
Ipratropium Bromide and Salbutamol a combo bronchodilator drug that aids loosening up the muscles in the air passage, thus enhancing circulation to the lungs. It is recommended as an breathed in treatment for the deterrence or procedure of bronchospasm (additionally an attribute of asthma) in folks with persistent (COPD) obstructive lung condition.
Shake the metered Duolin Inhaler aerosol before using. This will mix the medicine evenly so that a correct dose is delivered. Each puff must be inhaled through the mouth properly for Ipratropium and Salbutamol to work. The recommended dose for adults is 2 puffs four times daily (at regular intervals), up to a maximum of 12 puffs in 24 hours.
Side effects of Duolin Inhaler include: dryness of the mouth, headache, cough. Get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including hives, difficulty breathing or swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat.
